Finally, after two years of waiting I finally made it to the illustrious Q-Con! After hearing nothing but good things about it I had to check it out for myself. But alas the train fares and my work schedule have forbid me to attend, until this year. And to say I was surprised is an understatement. Why?!
So those that know me personally know how much I love Rammstein. It’s almost become a tad worrying for some of them and it’s actually got them to believe that I am actually fluent German, even though I only know whatever words that were in Rammstein’s songs. And trust me, they are not your everyday conversation phrases! But now while Rammstein is on a break, lead singer Till Lindemann has joined up with Peter Tagtgren to produce his new project “Lindemann.” Their first single is out and this is what I thought of it!
There is a combined sigh of relief and despair going across the county now as what seemed to be the biggest convention of the year has closed it doors. And I’m well aware that this review is very late in being published,I have no one else but myself to blame on that one, but the majority of my time after the con was spent tearing the place down and sleeping! Just when we thought this game could not get anymore awesome! They had to go and upload this. The trailer, which I have embedded (hopefully) down below shows the sheer power of the upcoming Batmobile which players can drift around the streets of Gotham in Arkham Knight.
Crysis creators Crytek have just announced their take on the Left4Dead style 4 player shoot-em up with HUNT: Horrors of the Gilded Age. Whilst this seems to be a generic thing in games nowadays I have high hopes for this addition to the genre. Giving Crytek’s already sterling reputation for high quality games there is a lot on the line for them with this announcement.
Kingdom Hearts fans rejoice, the time.has finally come where we can bridge the gap between the second second Kingdom Hearts and the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3, and we’ve just been given a ton of new screenshots and info to pass on to you!
So we all got a little bit upset and scared when we found out the Irrational Games were shutting down and that the hope of another Bioshock game seemed dead in the water. But alas it seems as though there is a silver lining that we should all grasp onto with all our might!
Probably one of the hardest con write ups I’ll ever have to do mainly because of the alleged stigma attached to MCM and their handling of the con scene in Ireland. Although I have no solid evidence to back this up it’s been heard through the grapevine that MCM Ireland would be a con to avoid and to save your money for some of the other conventions that will be happening throughout the year. Personally I don’t believe this and I find that all conventions seem to be the same, they have the same vendors, same atmosphere and the same goal. But this con just seemed a tad different in my opinion.

The Xbox One World Tour has graced the emerald Isle for the weekend and lucky Xbox enthusiasts will be able to test out their favourite games before the official launch next week. I got to go to a special preview and got hands on with the Xbox One. I walk into the hall and there it was, the future of gaming, sitting there in front of me. I never would’ve thought that I would be able to get to play this console until sometime next year but there it was and the staff member hands me the controller and asks will I play him in a vs. match of the new Killer Instinct. How could I refuse!
This event was mainly showcasing the launch titles that the Xbox One has to offer and didn’t really touch on the hardware side of things. But I will say this, the controller feels so much better than the previous 360 pad. It feels lighter, more streamlined and fits to your hands so damn perfectly it’s insane. Eliminating the bulky battery back to make it lighter and giving the player more freedom to rest their fingers on the back of the controller was a great touch. I did feel that the bumper buttons (LB & RB) felt quite stiff at times and during a game of COD: Ghosts i really had to search for the buttons and press down very sharply to get them to throw the grenade.
