I am so happy that DCC is back in Dublin, it is genuinely one of the only conventions in the country that I get excited for. Why? Well I can’t really pick a single point to convey my admiration, but I can pick around 10! And I’m going to go through it all in this review, so pop your butt on the floor, lay your props beside you and enjoy the review!

Boy oh boy, didn’t think I’d be doing one of these again. I felt my first review ticked off MCM just a tad! A “tad” being enough to have them block us on social media and stop us from leaving comments on their posts. But that was a long time ago, they’ve changed right? Learned the error of their ways? Ironed out the kinks? Well, see below to find out! (more…)

4 years. 4 whole years it’s been. And every year the bar has been pushed higher and higher for the one and only Dublin Comic Con. Although this year I am only able to attend the Saturday date, you guys, my readers, have been so kind as to fill me in on the details of Sunday so I won’t leave any juicy bits out! So without any further adieu let’s jump right into this shall we?!

Another month another comic con. Wait? What? This isn’t a comic convention?  A horror convention?!! Where have you been all my life!?

For one weekend in February Screamvention took over the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin and for those two days February turned into FebruGORY with horror icons flooding in from all over the world to spend some time with their fans! For something so new and niche it’s always interesting to see how it turns out and below you’ll see what I took from this weekend.

You know how the old saying goes of “third times the charm” right?! Well amazingly enough this year makes the third year that Dublin Comic Con has graced our lovely city. Three years is a long time and a lot can be learned in the two years previous. Have the organizers learned a thing or two, added some more tricks up their sleeves for this year?! Read on and find out!

Finally, after two years of waiting I finally made it to the illustrious Q-Con! After hearing nothing but good things about it I had to check it out for myself. But alas the train fares and my work schedule have forbid me to attend, until this year. And to say I was surprised is an understatement. Why?!

So I decided to attend the D.I.C.E convention out in Dundrum Centre over the weekend and I did exactly what I said I wouldn’t, I spent a lot of money on comics! And one of the comics that I was looking to pick up was London Horror Comic by the twisted and amazing mind of John-Paul Kamath. I first was introduced to LHC last year at the same convention and I think I fell in love, the stories that we’re told in the comic we’re very, very original. Sometimes even eye brow raising and curious, but that’s what this anthology brings to the market.

There is a combined sigh of relief and despair going across the county now as what seemed to be the biggest convention of the year has closed it doors. And I’m well aware that this review is very late in being published,I have no one else but myself to blame on that one, but the majority of my time after the con was spent tearing the place down and sleeping! But I do have an opinion on it, so let’s get into that shall we! (more…)

Really?! It’s been a year already? I am truly shocked but also am very thankful to all of you to be able to help me go from an hobby writer to being able to be eligible for a press pass to this convention! So for that I am truly thankful and I will do my best to keep all my reviews and write ups to a high standard in the future.

So, Arcade Con 2014. Not much has changed since last year, it is the exact same venue, the very fancy Ballsbridge Hotel in Ballsbridge Dublin 4, the only thing that seemed to change was that now I have an overall better knowledge about what to expect, and I hope that shows in my past reviews in the past. I sometimes feel that since I was a “Con-Virgin” before I wrote my first review everything to me was either amazing or awesome, mainly because it was a new or exciting time for me. But as stated above I know what to look out for now so this review will be a lot more technical than my previous write up!
