*Major Spoilers Ahead*

It’s been a rare occurrence that I review a film directly after watching it but this film has certainly left an impact on me so great that the end credits are still rolling as I’m typing this intro. My notes are a slurred mess because I didn’t want to take my eyes of the screen. This is gonna be a tough review so without any further adieu, I ask you; Chocolate, Strawberry or Vanilla?!

Another month another comic con. Wait? What? This isn’t a comic convention?  A horror convention?!! Where have you been all my life!?

For one weekend in February Screamvention took over the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin and for those two days February turned into FebruGORY with horror icons flooding in from all over the world to spend some time with their fans! For something so new and niche it’s always interesting to see how it turns out and below you’ll see what I took from this weekend. (more…)

It seems as thought the eagerly awaited Assassins Creed movie has been delayed until August 2015 according to a statement made by Fox to the Hollywood Reporter.

We all knew that Micheal Fassbender was taking up the role of the Assassin but which one is the question that keeps coming to my mind, who would he be best to portray? (more…)

A summer camp filled with teens in the eighties, can you think of a more generic setting for a horror film?! Well that’s what I was thinking on my way to the screening of Sleepaway Camp. The event was hosted by the sisters at The Blood Donor Film Club in Dublin’s City Centre, or The Church Bar to be exact.

The first thing you notice about Sleepaway is that were not looking at kids in their late teens but actually in their early teens, which was a nice change of events!  The start we see a family on a boat, the father, daughter and son. The boat tips and the family gets run over by a speed boat and we see the body of the father floating in the water, accompanied by a life jacket! (more…)

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all something like this just pops up out of the woodwork! Seriously though I thought they went a little too far with Killer Condoms but now it seems that they are pushing the boundaries of stupid even more with this new teaser trailer for Squirrels!

All the Eco-activists out there will love this film as the plot synopsis tells us that the squirrels are pissed off because they cannot get any food due to the environmental destruction caused by a chemical company setting up in the city. (more…)

Horror legend Clive Barker is on the minds of many horror fans tonight as The Forum in Darlington are set to be shocked and awed by the cult classic that is NightBreed as part of the Darlington Art’s Festival, this newly restored film will be shown at 8pm tonight and I highly urge any fans of horror in the Darlington area to check it out. There will also be a Q&A session afterwards with 3 stars of the film Hugh Ross, Simon Banford and Nicholas Vince. (more…)

So below I’ve compiled a small list of some of the horror movies that have influenced me over the years, some may not have any descriptions and there may be a few missing but the great thing about the site I’m using to create this I can edit anytime and add more! Which I will be doing.

So if you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you will get an update every time I update this post along with a link, how awesome is that?!

A History of Horror

The horror genre has been one of the most popular genres in film since the beginning of the movie theatre. But modern horror has been taking a turn for the worse. Horror films today have been inclined to show more gore than actual horror and this has then made a new sub genre know as Gorno, or Gornography. Recently horror has begun to get popular again, with the release of “Sinister” and “Paranormal Activity 4” (Some may argue that’s not the case!). But horror was not always like this, let’s take a trip through the history of the horror genre and find out how it’s advanced since the black and white times of Nosferatu. (more…)

The official trailer for new zombie flick World War Z was uploaded to Youtube 20 hours ago and has already passed the one million views mark, and honestly that no surprise.

After watching the trailer we here at Akroview are highly anticipating the release of this zombifest! But what we would really like to see is how Brad Pitt handles himself as the main antagonist, maybe if he uses some of the tricks he learnt killing Nazi’s in Inglorious Basterds then we’re in for a hell of a ride.

Wait a minute…first he kills Nazis, now he’s killing zombies! Could the next Brad Pitt film be…dare we say it…NAZI ZOMBIES! We’re looking at you Treyarch!

Anyway check out the trailer below and see what you make of it, we think its awesome!
