4 years. 4 whole years it’s been. And every year the bar has been pushed higher and higher for the one and only Dublin Comic Con. Although this year I am only able to attend the Saturday date, you guys, my readers, have been so kind as to fill me in on the details of Sunday so I won’t leave any juicy bits out! So without any further adieu let’s jump right into this shall we?!

So I decided to attend the D.I.C.E convention out in Dundrum Centre over the weekend and I did exactly what I said I wouldn’t, I spent a lot of money on comics! And one of the comics that I was looking to pick up was London Horror Comic by the twisted and amazing mind of John-Paul Kamath. I first was introduced to LHC last year at the same convention and I think I fell in love, the stories that we’re told in the comic we’re very, very original. Sometimes even eye brow raising and curious, but that’s what this anthology brings to the market.

There is a combined sigh of relief and despair going across the county now as what seemed to be the biggest convention of the year has closed it doors. And I’m well aware that this review is very late in being published,I have no one else but myself to blame on that one, but the majority of my time after the con was spent tearing the place down and sleeping! But I do have an opinion on it, so let’s get into that shall we! (more…)

Here you go guys, the eagerly anticipated MCM Belfast Comic Con Review…and yes that’s already a plus, the fact that I mentioned the Convention as a Comic Con and not a retail expo. So it seems that the MCM London Comic Con was a great success last week showing a massive rise in the number of attendees compared to previous years. In a press release we received it states that the figures just broke over 100,000 con-goers compared to “88,000 people last October and just over 70,000 in May 2013.” (more…)

Probably one of the hardest con write ups I’ll ever have to do mainly because of the alleged stigma attached to MCM and their handling of the con scene in Ireland. Although I have no solid evidence to back this up it’s been heard through the grapevine that MCM Ireland would be a con to avoid and to save your money for some of the other conventions that will be happening throughout the year. Personally I don’t believe this and I find that all conventions seem to be the same, they have the same vendors, same atmosphere and the same goal. But this con just seemed a tad different in my opinion.

I go to a comic book shop on a regular basis, but what is just a humble nerdy vendor actually holds a lot more than you think. Down below the shop houses a mass of computers and video games, DVDs and projectors, nerd heaven basically. I became a member of this club sometime last year and one of the things that I was introduced to in this club was Warframe, or as the guys who run the place like to call it “Space Ninjas”. (more…)

So after DCC13 there seemed to be some article that didn’t show the con in the best of ways and started to twist the perspective of some of the attendees and made them seem like freaks and social weirdos, here’s what I had to say about this matter. (more…)
