You know how the old saying goes of “third times the charm” right?! Well amazingly enough this year makes the third year that Dublin Comic Con has graced our lovely city. Three years is a long time and a lot can be learned in the two years previous. Have the organizers learned a thing or two, added some more tricks up their sleeves for this year?! As we know the Unreal Engine was one of the best engines for making games, it has been used in almost all major AAA titles and has really set the bar for graphics, lighting, physics and all the other lovely stuff that makes our games look and feel like real life! I remember back in the day when Gears of War 2 was being revealed and they showed off the next generation of Unreal Software and they did this by shooting a cube of meat over and over within the GoW game….this blew our minds! And now here we are, Unreal Engine 4 and an unbelievably well made video showing off the sheer power of this new engine. (more…)
We here at Akroview love horror games and films and we have done our fair share of jump scare videos over the years. One of which you can see below, although not my proudest moment for entertainment sake it was pure gold.
Probably one of the hardest con write ups I’ll ever have to do mainly because of the alleged stigma attached to MCM and their handling of the con scene in Ireland. Although I have no solid evidence to back this up it’s been heard through the grapevine that MCM Ireland would be a con to avoid and to save your money for some of the other conventions that will be happening throughout the year. Personally I don’t believe this and I find that all conventions seem to be the same, they have the same vendors, same atmosphere and the same goal. But this con just seemed a tad different in my opinion.

Ever felt the need to bash the joker to near death as Wonder Woman whilst on the bus to work and then remember that you only have an android device?! Well if you did then you will be relieved to find out that it is now possible to do that now that Injustice: Gods Among Us has arrived on the Google Play Store and will be on Amazon App Store soon! This trailer was just released and shows off the sheer power of the Android OS. Using swipes and taps to pull off special moves this seems to be a must have for all fans of the game, which is already out on current gen consoles and according to the press release we recieved it will also be available from November 29th on the Playstation 4.

The AVGN Adventures PC game was released today and it only seemed right that I featured it on the Akro Analysis. This game is great, simple but hard, challenging but rewarding and stuffed with more references than games on the AVGN’s shelf! I’ve been waiting months for this game and i think it should give me something to do whilst i wait for the film to come out. (more…)
Horror legend Clive Barker is on the minds of many horror fans tonight as The Forum in Darlington are set to be shocked and awed by the cult classic that is NightBreed as part of the Darlington Art’s Festival, this newly restored film will be shown at 8pm tonight and I highly urge any fans of horror in the Darlington area to check it out. There will also be a Q&A session afterwards with 3 stars of the film Hugh Ross, Simon Banford and Nicholas Vince. (more…)
