So it seems that the MCM London Comic Con was a great success last week showing a massive rise in the number of attendees compared to previous years. In a press release we received it states that the figures just broke over 100,000 con-goers compared to “88,000 people last October and just over 70,000 in May 2013.”
The con’s co-organizer Bryan Cooney was very pleased with the turnout saying, “This has been the most successful MCM London Comic Con on record – in fact, the largest event of its kind ever held in the UK,” he also continued on to say, “the twice-yearly MCM London Comic Con has become the place to meet up with like-minded friends and make new ones.”
Paul Miley, the events co-organizer also stated that the rise of the popularity and numbers in attendees could’ve been due to the addition of new events and the expansion of current ones, “this latest show saw us respond to public demand by expanding our online video, eSports and Asian culture offerings. And when we return in October, the show will be even bigger and better!”
MCM will return to London this year in the Excel London on the 24th-26th October this year. But if you can’t wait that long, MCM Belfast will be on next Saturday, the 7th of June!
