Another month another comic con. Wait? What? This isn’t a comic convention?  A horror convention?!! Where have you been all my life!?

For one weekend in February Screamvention took over the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin and for those two days February turned into FebruGORY with horror icons flooding in from all over the world to spend some time with their fans! For something so new and niche it’s always interesting to see how it turns out and below you’ll see what I took from this weekend. (more…)

Banner for now
This is a new mini series I’ll be trying to do every now and again, this series will not be limited to film, there will be film, gaming and TVs shows thrown into the mixture just to make it that much more interesting.

These “Top X” videos will be uploaded onto Akroview’s YouTube channel, which you can find here. They will then be uploaded to Akroview.com. (more…)

So I decided to attend the D.I.C.E convention out in Dundrum Centre over the weekend and I did exactly what I said I wouldn’t, I spent a lot of money on comics! And one of the comics that I was looking to pick up was London Horror Comic by the twisted and amazing mind of John-Paul Kamath. I first was introduced to LHC last year at the same convention and I think I fell in love, the stories that we’re told in the comic we’re very, very original. Sometimes even eye brow raising and curious, but that’s what this anthology brings to the market.

We here at Akroview love horror games and films and we have done our fair share of jump scare videos over the years. One of which you can see below, although not my proudest moment for entertainment sake it was pure gold.

A summer camp filled with teens in the eighties, can you think of a more generic setting for a horror film?! Well that’s what I was thinking on my way to the screening of Sleepaway Camp. The event was hosted by the sisters at The Blood Donor Film Club in Dublin’s City Centre, or The Church Bar to be exact.

The first thing you notice about Sleepaway is that were not looking at kids in their late teens but actually in their early teens, which was a nice change of events!  The start we see a family on a boat, the father, daughter and son. The boat tips and the family gets run over by a speed boat and we see the body of the father floating in the water, accompanied by a life jacket! (more…)

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all something like this just pops up out of the woodwork! Seriously though I thought they went a little too far with Killer Condoms but now it seems that they are pushing the boundaries of stupid even more with this new teaser trailer for Squirrels!

All the Eco-activists out there will love this film as the plot synopsis tells us that the squirrels are pissed off because they cannot get any food due to the environmental destruction caused by a chemical company setting up in the city. (more…)

Get mission, walk, kill zombie, realise you can’t carry more supplies and repeat. This is the general principle behind State of Decay it seems. Now don’t get me wrong we here at Akroview love zombies and the undead, sure our editor (ME!) is part of a zombie hunting group in Ireland, but I wasn’t all that impressed with State of Decay as most others seem to be. Horror legend Clive Barker is on the minds of many horror fans tonight as The Forum in Darlington are set to be shocked and awed by the cult classic that is NightBreed as part of the Darlington Art’s Festival, this newly restored film will be shown at 8pm tonight and I highly urge any fans of horror in the Darlington area to check it out. There will also be a Q&A session afterwards with 3 stars of the film Hugh Ross, Simon Banford and Nicholas Vince. (more…)

We here at Akroview love zombies and all things horror so it was no surprise that we saw this and thought “yup this could be worthy to grace our sd card!”

But what first seemed to be a dull endless running game turned out to be much more addictive, or should we say infectious, then we could have ever thought. (more…)

highlights of horror

So below I’ve compiled a small list of some of the horror movies that have influenced me over the years, some may not have any descriptions and there may be a few missing but the great thing about the site I’m using to create this I can edit anytime and add more! Which I will be doing.

So if you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you will get an update every time I update this post along with a link, how awesome is that?!

You can check the slideshow out by clicking HERE!

Anyway, enjoy!
