The AVGN Adventures PC game was released today and it only seemed right that I featured it on the Akro Analysis. This game is great, simple but hard, challenging but rewarding and stuffed with more references than games on the AVGN’s shelf! I’ve been waiting months for this game and i think it should give me something to do whilst i wait for the film to come out. Read the rest of this entry »

So it has arrived, finally after months of snippets and teasers, deadlines and set backs we are finally graced with the behemoth of open world sandbox and what is set to be the greatest GTA ever to be released, but how does it actually live up to the hype?! Well read on and find out.

So here we are back in Los Santos and what an improvement it is! The first thing I have to say about the game is that it looks gorgeous, albeit some minor graphical errors but That’s nothing to be worried about, the game looks crisps and sharp and the cinematic cutscenes look like they’ve been taken out of a modern day motion picture! Although I am accustomed to the ultra graphics of PC games I will admit I was a little disappointed when I first saw the initial bank heist but about an hour into playing its starting to look pretty damn sexy! I go to a comic book shop on a regular basis, but what is just a humble nerdy vendor actually holds a lot more than you think. Down below the shop houses a mass of computers and video games, DVDs and projectors, nerd heaven basically. I became a member of this club sometime last year and one of the things that I was introduced to in this club was Warframe, or as the guys who run the place like to call it “Space Ninjas”. A summer camp filled with teens in the eighties, can you think of a more generic setting for a horror film?! Well that’s what I was thinking on my way to the screening of Sleepaway Camp. The event was hosted by the sisters at The Blood Donor Film Club in Dublin’s City Centre, or The Church Bar to be exact.

The first thing you notice about Sleepaway is that were not looking at kids in their late teens but actually in their early teens, which was a nice change of events!  The start we see a family on a boat, the father, daughter and son. The boat tips and the family gets run over by a speed boat and we see the body of the father floating in the water, accompanied by a life jacket! Read the rest of this entry »

Just when you thought you’ve seen it all something like this just pops up out of the woodwork! Seriously though I thought they went a little too far with Killer Condoms but now it seems that they are pushing the boundaries of stupid even more with this new teaser trailer for Squirrels!

All the Eco-activists out there will love this film as the plot synopsis tells us that the squirrels are pissed off because they cannot get any food due to the environmental destruction caused by a chemical company setting up in the city. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve always wanted a copy of Battlefield 3 for the Pc for ages now, it always looked well on PC than Xbox but I was taken away at the price of it, €30 may seem cheap but for a game that’s been out that long I’d think they’d drop the price a little bit.

But today my dreams, and dreams of hundreds of thousands of gamers across the world have been answered! The Humble Bundle have issued their new Origin Bundle, one of the best bundles I have ever seen.

It offers Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror’s Edge, and Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Dead Space, Dead Space 3, and Medal of Honour: Warfighter as standard. But if you pay over the average, currently at around $5, you will get Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 Starter Pack too.

So far the Humble Bundle has amassed over 1.2 million dollars in its first 2 hours and there is still 2 weeks to go, all proceeds are going to various charities in America. So what are you waiting for, go get some awesome games at an awesome price for an awesome cause!

AW!

So after DCC13 there seemed to be some article that didn’t show the con in the best of ways and started to twist the perspective of some of the attendees and made them seem like freaks and social weirdos, here’s what I had to say about this matter. Read the rest of this entry »

So Arcade Con 2013 has officially finished and there is a combined sigh of despair from thousands of anime, gaming, sci fi and comic fans around the country with the thought of having to wait another year to feel the atmosphere of this amazing convention.

Now I should point out that this is all my own views and it may differ from others, mainly due to the fact that before this I was a “Con Virgin” and had never been to one before, so this was all an unbiased look at the world of comics, cosplay and anime.

It was only a matter of time before Spartacus got it’s own game and to be honest it would have been good. Think of it, it would be one of the goriest gladiator games to ever grace the home console. But Spartacus Legends is far from legendary. Read the rest of this entry »

Get mission, walk, kill zombie, realise you can’t carry more supplies and repeat. This is the general principle behind State of Decay it seems. Now don’t get me wrong we here at Akroview love zombies and the undead, sure our editor (ME!) is part of a zombie hunting group in Ireland, but I wasn’t all that impressed with State of Decay as most others seem to be.
