A summer camp filled with teens in the eighties, can you think of a more generic setting for a horror film?! Well that’s what I was thinking on my way to the screening of Sleepaway Camp. The event was hosted by the sisters at The Blood Donor Film Club in Dublin’s City Centre, or The Church Bar to be exact.

The first thing you notice about Sleepaway is that were not looking at kids in their late teens but actually in their early teens, which was a nice change of events!  The start we see a family on a boat, the father, daughter and son. The boat tips and the family gets run over by a speed boat and we see the body of the father floating in the water, accompanied by a life jacket! (more…)

So after DCC13 there seemed to be some article that didn’t show the con in the best of ways and started to twist the perspective of some of the attendees and made them seem like freaks and social weirdos, here’s what I had to say about this matter. (more…)

It was only a matter of time before Spartacus got it’s own game and to be honest it would have been good. Think of it, it would be one of the goriest gladiator games to ever grace the home console. But Spartacus Legends is far from legendary. (more…)

Get mission, walk, kill zombie, realise you can’t carry more supplies and repeat. This is the general principle behind State of Decay it seems. We here at Akroview love zombies and all things horror so it was no surprise that we saw this and thought “yup this could be worthy to grace our sd card!”

But what first seemed to be a dull endless running game turned out to be much more addictive, or should we say infectious, then we could have ever thought. (more…)

highlights of horror

So below I’ve compiled a small list of some of the horror movies that have influenced me over the years, some may not have any descriptions and there may be a few missing but the great thing about the site I’m using to create this I can edit anytime and add more! Which I will be doing.

So if you follow me on Twitter or on Facebook you will get an update every time I update this post along with a link, how awesome is that?!

You can check the slideshow out by clicking HERE!

Anyway, enjoy!

Shoot many robots, does exactly what it says on the tin pretty much. Your main objective in this arcade title is to simply shoot the living hell out of a mass of robots. It may sound boring and generic but trust me; it gets pretty fun after a while.

So let’s start with the story, it’s the basic and rather stereotypical tale of a lonely redneck, P. Walter Tugnut (the P stands for Pickles, but don’t call him that,) that has his entire life based in his trailer, and his life consists mainly of beer and a ton of guns. Then the robots came and took all that from him, now it is your job to aid our protagonist in a journey to get back his beloved trailer and also destroy them robots in the process. (more…)
