Remember the crazy over the top motorcycle racing game that allowed you to bash the brains out of your competitiors with chains and bats, you know the one i mean, of course its Road Rash!! Well this game saw a untimely end and let a generation of punk racers deprived of there motorcycle mayhem, but thanks to DarkSeas Games we now will have a revamped, redubbed, ridiculous new look on the Road Rash title with Road Redemption.

With the Kickstater looking for an astounding $160,000 to fund the development of the game, pledgers and backers have amassed a total of $174,000 , which was more than enough for the developers, to which the developers treated pledgers with dinner and giving them some accommodation for the weekend. Not too shabby!!

Road Redemption is set to feature numerous weapons, bikes and courses with some exclusive bikes and weapons for pledgers. It will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, Wii U and PC.

The plot is simple enough being described on their kickstarter page as:

” You play a recently-paroled felon.  After 8 years in federal prison,  you must work your way back up from the bottom of your old motorcycle club.

As you rise in the ranks, it becomes clear that not all of your brothers are acting in the best interests of the club, and may even be responsible for your incarceration.

You must play a pivotal role in the resulting power struggle, with multiple outcomes depending on your actions.

Eventually, you can lead your own faction and fight to control territory and drug distribution routes in a war for survival and supremacy.”

Darkseas Games has stated a release date as August of nexr year! “We will release Road Redemption on PC (Windows/Mac/Linux), August of next year, with a Wii U port following a few months after, and hopefully an Xbox 360 port at the same time.”

So it looks like we’ll be waiting a while until were can get a chance to play and review it, Maybe in the mean time we’ll do a Retro review of the classic Road Rash games if we can manage to get our hands on a copy!

Check out the trailer below, it’s actually quite fun looking!
